DENTON, Texas (Feb. 19, 2026) - The Texas Woman's softball team (3-7, 1-1) hits the road this weekend for Lone Star Conference matchups against Texas A&M-Kingsville (7-5, 2-0) and Texas A&M International (4-9, 0-2).

The Pioneers are coming off a competitive home opener against UT Tyler, where they split the series, highlighted by a historic 11-10 win over the two-time defending national champions in game two.

This weekend marks the 99th and 100th meetings between TWU and Texas A&M-Kingsville, and the 37th and 38th matchups against Texas A&M International. In their most recent series against the Javelinas in 2025, Kingsville won both games at Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field. On the other hand, TWU split their series in Laredo with the Dustdevils last season. The Pioneers lead both all-time series and look to build on the momentum from last Friday's signature win.

FIRST LSC ROAD MATCHUPS

KEY POINTERS FOR THE ROAD

  • A LOOK AT THE JAVELINAS: Texas A&M-Kingsville currently sits third in the LSC standings and enters the weekend on a seven-game winning streak. After opening the 2026 season 0-5, the Javelinas have not lost since. In their conference opener against Texas A&M International, TAMUK swept the Dustdevils with 3-1 and 6-3 victories last Sunday. Kingsville will look to extend their streak at home against the Pioneers.

  • A LOOK AT THE DUSTDEVILS: Texas A&M International is 15th in the LSC standings and enters the weekend on a three-game losing streak. Prior to falling to Kingsville, TAMIU dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 9 Angelo State on Feb. 8. The Dustdevils' most recent win came in a 13-1 victory over Ouachita Baptist on Feb. 7. TAMIU will look to regroup before hosting TWU on Sunday.

  • A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: Texas Woman's is ninth in the LSC standings and tied with multiple conference opponents at 1-1 in league play. After beginning the season 2-6 in nonconference action, the Pioneers opened conference play by earning their first home win over UT Tyler in program history, securing an 11-10 victory after falling 7-4 in game one. TWU and head coach Mike McNutt aim to build consistency and compete at a high level as they pursue four conference wins this weekend.

TWU will face Texas A&M-Kingsville at 4 and 6 p.m. Friday in Kingsville, Texas, before traveling to Laredo to take on Texas A&M International at 12:15 and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
