DENTON, Texas (Feb. 6, 2025) - The Texas Woman's Softball team heads to Bentonville, Ark., this weekend to compete in the Alvy Early Memorial Classic at Memorial Park, marking the Pioneers' second tournament of the season.

TWU will face Southern Arkansas and Maryville for the first time this year, while also getting another matchup against Missouri Southern and Harding.

The Pioneers are coming off a 1-3 opening weekend at the DII Lone Star Classic in Mansfield, Texas, where they faced Missouri Southern, Harding, Washburn, and Missouri-St. Louis. TWU was outscored 18-12 over the weekend but competed closely in several contests.

In their most recent matchups with Missouri Southern and Harding, the Pioneers dropped hard-fought decisions, 5-3 and 4-3, respectively. TWU's lone win of the weekend came against Missouri-St. Louis, where the Pioneers scored four unanswered runs to secure their first victory of the season after trailing 1-0 in the opening inning.

TWU will open play on Saturday against Harding at 11 a.m., followed by Southern Arkansas at 1:30 p.m. On Sunday, the Pioneers will face Missouri Southern at 11 a.m. before closing the tournament against Maryville at 1:30 p.m.
