DENTON, Texas (March 4, 2026) - Another week, another award for the Pioneers, as Sophia Isbell was named Midwest Independent Conference Co-Performance of the Week.

Isbell earned the honor following a strong showing in last week's competition.

"Isbell continues to perform at an extremely high level on all three events she trains," TWU gymnastics head coach Lisa Bowerman said. "Reaching a new career high of 9.9 on beam this weekend was just the cherry on top of a stellar meet overall. We continue to be proud not only of the results she is seeing, but of the relentless work she puts in every single day in and out of the gym."

The Pioneers competed in their second home quad meet of the season on Feb. 27 against Florida, Arizona State and Fisk. Isbell competed on vault, beam and floor. Her Performance of the Week honor was highlighted by a career-high 9.9 on beam, where she finished sixth behind Florida competitors.

The award marks Isbell's fifth weekly honor of the season and the ninth MIC weekly award for the Pioneers this year.
