DENTON, Texas (March 5, 2026) - TWU stays in Denton for their third meet in a row at home to celebrate Senior Night after a meet against Florida, Arizona State and Fisk.

The Pioneers will take the floor Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in KMA, meeting No. 31 Nebraska. Following that, they will head to Oklahoma to compete against the No. 1 Sooners on Sunday, March 8.

ONE LAST NIGHT AT HOME

  • Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the march-in at 6:55 p.m.

  • On Friday, TWU will host Senior Night, honoring our three seniors!!  

  • The Pioneers will be signing autographs after the meet, so make sure to stay for a 2026 Senior Poster and autographs from the Pioneers.

MARCH-IN

  • HISTORY: TWU and Nebraska have met two times before, with Nebraska winning both. Their last meet was in March of 2025, with TWU falling 195.975–196.450. Before that, the teams met in 2017, with Nebraska winning 194.450–193.000. The Sooners and the Pioneers have met 23 times in the past, with OU winning all of those meets. The last matchup was last month at the Fort Worth Metroplex Challenge, with OU taking the win with a 198.175 final score.  

  • A LOOK AT NEBRASKA: The Huskers (5-7, 3-6) last competed at the Big Fours meet, taking third place with a 195.200. Olivia Burns and Lauren Homecillo tied their career highs, with Burns receiving a 9.875 on beam and Homecillo earning a 9.925 on floor. The team's highest score came Feb. 7 with a 196.825 against Iowa.

  • A LOOK AT OKLAHOMA: The Sooners are ranked No. 1 overall and have a high team score of 198.425, which came against Georgia on Jan. 23. They are the only SEC team to have multiple athletes earn a perfect 10 this season. Oklahoma is also the only team to score 49.600 or higher at least once on all four events this season. 

  • LAST MEET: TWU competed against Florida, Arizona State and Fisk. The Pioneers finished third in the team standings with a 194.525. Beginning the meet on vault, TWU recorded a team score of 48.85. Sophia Isbell led the team in the event, finishing third with a 9.85 for the second consecutive meet and matching a career high for the third time. At the uneven bars next, the Pioneers scored a team total of 47.875. Brooke Ferrari led the team in the event, finishing fifth with a 9.85. TWU scored another 48.85 team total on beam in its third rotation. Isbell again led the team, setting a new career high with a 9.9. Alaina Reid matched a career high in the event with a 9.85, and Kyleigh Ghanbari set a new career best with a 9.775. The floor routine proved to be the Pioneers' best event of the meet, with a team total of 48.95. Isbell led the team with a 9.875, completing the hat trick of matching or besting career highs in her three events.

  • WEEKLY HONORS: Sophia Isbell was named Midwest Independent Conference Co-Performance of the Week. She earned the honor following a strong showing in last week's competition. The award marks Isbell's fifth weekly honor of the season and the ninth MIC weekly award for the Pioneers this year.
