TYLER, Texas (April 12, 2026) - The Texas Woman's softball team's road struggles continued in Tyler, Texas, as they faced two-time defending national champions No. 25 UT Tyler (34-8, 26-4) for their second two-game series this year, where the Patriots extended their win streak with two home victories over the Pioneers (23-21, 17-13) on Saturday afternoon at Irwin Field.
The Pioneers faced a tall task after an 8-0 loss in six innings against UT Tyler in game one, as they came out in game two with a strong response, taking an early lead in the fourth inning. Despite the Patriots responding with a run of their own, TWU regained the lead with a solo home run in the fifth. The home team put together a sixth inning rally to take the 3-2 win over the Pioneers.

In the fourth inning, Elizabeth Smith got the Pioneers going with an RBI double that scored Madison Altman to take a 1-0 lead.

After the Patriots tied the game in the fourth, Trinity Perry hit a solo home run to left-center field in the top of the fifth to put TWU up 2-1.
