RICHARDSON, Texas (April 27, 2026) - With Texas Woman's softball occupying the eighth of nine spots for entry into the Lone Star Conference Tournament, every at-bat came at a premium as the regular season draws to a close. The Pioneer batters took advantage of those moments today against the UT Dallas Comets, teeing off for six solo home runs in a 7-2 win in game one. Only two homers were hit in game two, but the Pioneers still secured the sweep with a 7-1 victory.
Randi Crawford recorded eight strikeouts in a complete-game performance in game two, but the bats stole the show with six long balls, one shy of the school record set in 2023. Riley Todd drove in the only non-home run of the game with an RBI double in the top of the fourth inning, while Hawwa Townsend led the way with two home runs, one of six Pioneers for TWU (26-24, 20-16) to go deep.
UT Dallas (13-31, 11-25) opened the second game with a home run of its own, but the Pioneers and starter Caydance Gaddis responded with composure. The offense rattled off seven consecutive runs in the win, including home runs by Trinity Perry and Todd.
