DENTON, Texas (May 18, 2026) - Sophomore pitcher Randi Crawford made program history after being named the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) South Central Region Pitcher of the Year and earning First Team All-Region honors.
Crawford becomes the first Pioneer in Texas Woman's softball history to be named the D2CCA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year and is the first to earn D2CCA All-Region recognition since Alyssa LeBlanc was selected to the First Team in 2023.
In addition to her regional honors, Crawford was named the Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Year earlier this month, becoming the first Pioneer to earn the conference's top pitching honor since 2013. She also received First Team All-LSC recognition for the first time in her career after earning LSC All-Freshman Team honors in 2025.
"This is such a tremendous honor for Randi and one she has absolutely earned," Head Coach Gay McNutt said. "She has worked extremely hard to elevate every part of her game and has been a consistent competitor for us all season long. To be recognized as the top pitcher in the region is a reflection of the commitment and confidence she brings every day."
Crawford finished the season with a 16-7 overall record and a 2.14 earned run average in 32 appearances. The sophomore recorded 17 complete games and six shutouts while striking out 164 batters across 166.2 innings pitched. Opponents hit just .214 against her, while she posted a 1.00 WHIP and issued only 34 walks during the season.
Crawford was one of 18 Lone Star Conference student-athletes recognized across the first and second teams, including 10 first-team selections. She was also one of three pitchers named to the All-South Central Region First Team.
D2CCA All-Region honors are nominated and voted on by sports information directors from the Lone Star Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. As a First Team selection, Crawford advances to the D2CCA All-America ballot, with national honors scheduled to be announced later this month.
