DENTON, Texas (Sept. 17, 2026) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team continues its road swing Saturday, traveling to Dallas for a Lone Star Conference matchup against DBU inside Burg Center.

TWU (3-7) will face the Patriots (8-2, 1-0 LSC) on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m.

The Pioneers enter Saturday's contest looking to bounce back after a pair of losses at the LSC Challenge. TWU opened the event against St. Mary's, battling the Rattlers through five sets.

After dropping the opening set, TWU responded by taking the next two frames and nearly closed out the match in the fourth. 

St. Mary's rallied to win the final two sets and secure the 3-2 victory, 25-14, 17-25, 14-25, 26-24, 15-12.

The Pioneers closed the LSC Challenge against an unbeaten UT Tyler team. The Patriots entered the matchup 8-0 and earned a 3-0 win over TWU.

Through 10 matches, the Pioneers have totaled 482 kills and 441 assists while averaging 12.7 kills and 11.6 assists per set. 

Defensively, TWU has recorded 664 digs and 90 blocks, averaging 17.5 digs and 2.4 blocks per set.

Senior libero Alyssa Rojo continues to anchor the Pioneers defensively. 

Rojo has recorded 192 digs and is averaging 5.05 digs per set, which ranks second in the LSC.

Mary Grace King leads the Pioneers offensively with 132 kills and averages 3.47 kills per set, ranking seventh in the conference. 

King has also contributed 96 digs and 21 blocks while averaging 3.92 points per set, which ranks fifth in the LSC.

TWU has also been strong at the net behind Montserrat Soto-Talavera and Trinity Blackwood. 

Soto-Talavera leads the LSC with 44 total blocks and 1.22 blocks per set, while Blackwood ranks ninth with 38 blocks and 1.03 per set.

Lorena Gomez has directed the Pioneers offense with 267 assists, averaging 7.03 per set to rank seventh in the conference.

DBU presents several challenges offensively. 

Karly Wells ranks second in the LSC with 3.78 kills per set and third with 4.00 points per set. 

Reagan Fifer is hitting .343, fifth-best in the conference, right behind her is Avery Keck who is hitting .325 sixth-best in the LSC 

Aizlyn Dewberry ranks fourth in the LSC with 1.16 blocks per set.

The Patriots also feature Zoe Gun, who has recorded 19 service aces and averages 0.51 per set, ranking third in the LSC.

Saturday's match marks the Pioneers first LSC contest of the 2026 season.
