CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Feb. 15) – The TWU gymnastics team scored a 190.825 and finished second in a dual meet at Southeast Missouri State on Sunday afternoon.  The host Redhawks scored a 194.675 to win the two-team competition.
 
TWU senior Stephanie Repp placed second in all-around while senior Courtney Cochefski finished second on bars and freshman Schyler Jones tied for second on floor.
 
In the first rotation on bars, the Pioneers scored a 47.475 after counting a fall.  TWU was led by Cochefski with a 9.800 while sophomore Katie Simpson scored a 9.675 and Repp posted a 9.650.
 
TWU moved to vault in the second rotation and four gymnasts scored a 9.600 or better to post a 48.100 team vault score.  Schyler Jones led the Pioneers with a 9.700 while Repp scored a 9.650 and freshman Mallory Moredock posted a 9.625.  Senior Spencer Jones finished with a 9.600.
 
In the third rotation on floor, the Pioneers posted a 48.225 after three gymnasts scored a 9.725 or better.  Schyler Jones once again led the team with a 9.750 while Repp and freshman Mallory Moredock each posted a 9.725.
 
The Pioneers wrapped up the meet on beam and scored a 47.025 after counting two falls.  TWU was led by Repp with 9.750 while Spencer Jones posted a 9.650 and Schyler Jones scored a 9.575.
 
"We had another strong all-around performance by Schyler and a great all-around performance by Stephanie," said TWU head coach Lisa Bowerman.  "The floor team did better job today but unfortunately bars had struggles for the second straight meet and beam could not put together strong back-to-back performances.  We continue to find inconsistency in our performances from week to week.  We have all the pieces and we just need to put them together."
 
The Pioneers will return to action when host a dual meet this Saturday, Feb. 21, against Centenary.  The meet is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Kitty Magee Arena.
