THREE PIONEERS TAKE THE NATIONAL STAGE IN TEMPE

DENTON, Texas (April 2, 2026) - Texas Woman's will have a strong presence on the national stage as three Pioneers earned spots at the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Regional in Tempe, Arizona, on April 2. Marking the program's first appearance since 2021. Junior Sophia Isbell will represent TWU on vault, while junior Sophie Hernandez and sophomore Kyleigh Ghanbari qualified on floor exercise.

TWU last sent an individual to regionals in 2021, when Isabel Goyco competed on floor in Athens, Georgia, where she turned in a 9.850.

MARCH-IN

  • ISBELL: Isbell has been a key all-around contributor for the Pioneers this season, highlighted by her consistency on vault. The junior from Reading, Massachusetts, owns a 9.825 average and a 9.845 National Qualifying Score (NQS) in the event. She has hit a season-best 9.850 five times, including her performance at the 2026 MIC Championships, and leads the team with five MIC weekly honors. She most recently scored a 9.7625, placing fourth at the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship.

  • HERNANDEZ: Hernandez enters regionals following a strong campaign on floor, where she averages 9.823 with a 9.870 NQS. She has matched her season high of 9.875 on five occasions this year and brings valuable experience as a multi-event competitor, also appearing on vault and beam. Her career high of 9.950 came during the 2024 season against Missouri.

  • GHANBARI: Ghanbari has also made her mark on floor this season, recording the team's top score of 9.900 three times. The sophomore carries a 9.885 NQS into postseason competition and owns a career-best 9.925 from last season against Nebraska. In addition to her floor success, she has competed in three events and earned two MIC Performance of the Week honors.
