WEST CHESTER, Pa. (April 1, 2026) -.For the second consecutive year, the Texas Woman's gymnastics team captured the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship title Saturday night, earning their 14th national championship in program history.
The Pioneers posted a 195.300 team score in the finals after advancing with a 195.250 in the semifinal against Southern Connecticut and host West Chester. Southeast Missouri State placed second with a 194.300, followed by Bridgeport (193.525) and West Chester (193.450).
"This season has been filled with ups and downs, and I'm truly grateful to see this team finish on such a high note," TWU head coach Lisa Bowerman said. "They supported each other every step of the way and competed with joy and gratitude all weekend. When we do that, we're an unstoppable force."
Texas Woman's opened the meet on balance beam with a 48.425. Sophia Isbell led the rotation with a 9.775. Alaina Reid (9.750) and Ruby Goad (9.725) followed, while Kylie Minard added a 9.600 and Sophie Hernandez posted a 9.575 to complete the counting scores.
The Pioneers surged in the second rotation on floor exercise, recording a season-high 49.250. Minard scored a team-best 9.925, while Isbell added a 9.900. Autumn Mickens (9.850) and Kyleigh Ghanbari (9.825) delivered strong, expressive routines, and Kami Zarlengo and Bailey Bourgeois each contributed 9.750s.
On vault in the third rotation, Texas Woman tallied a 48.775. Ghanbari led with a 9.850, followed by Reid and Jordan Loock with matching 9.750s. Bourgeois added a 9.725, and Julianna Baker scored a 9.700.
The Pioneers closed the meet on uneven bars with a 48.850. Bourgeois paced the rotation with a 9.850, and Caroline Bowns followed with a 9.800. Reid and Zarlengo each scored 9.750, while Brooke Farrar rounded out the lineup with a 9.700.
