After opening the season with the best start in program history at 4-0, TWU has encountered a pair of losses. The Pioneers were defeated in overtime by Oklahoma Baptist, 1-0, Sept. 16 and dropped their Lone Star Conference opener Friday to West Texas A&M, 2-1.
About ENMU
The Greyhounds opened their season with a tie, three losses and a cancelled game before winning big against University of the Southwest, an 11-0 drubbing on Sept. 19. In their LSC opener on Friday, ENMU was defeated 2-0 by No. 15 Texas A&M-Commerce.
History between Texas Woman's and Eastern New Mexico
The Pioneers have compiled an 11-7-1 record over the Greyhounds dating to the 2003 season. Last year TWU won both meetings, including a 1-0 victory in the conference tournament.

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Nov. 5, 2015) – The TWU soccer team shutout Eastern New Mexico, 1-0, in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament. The Pioneers will advance to the semifinals for the third time in five trips to tournament.
The Pioneers dominated the entire games as they outshot Eastern New Mexico, 19-6, including, 8-4, in shots on goal. TWU also had a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
The only score of the game came early in the game at 21:52 mark on freshman

Rachel Rupp was credited with the assist after Bishop found the far post off a rebound.
Pioneers drop conference opener to Lady Buffs
DENTON, Texas (Sept. 23, 2016) – A goal by Texas Woman's University's
Chelsea Martin with two minutes remaining cut the lead of West Texas A&M to one, but the Pioneers were unable to connect again in a 2-1 loss to the Lady Buffs in the Lone Star Conference opener Friday night at TWU Soccer Field.
Martin's first attempt eight minutes into the contest skimmed off of goalkeeper Courtney Dippel's hands, and minutes later a corner kick by WT (3-2, 1-0 LSC) was kicked around near the goal before
Pressley Bailey kicked it out to keep the game scoreless.
In the 16th minute, WT's Khadidra Debesette struck first on a header from a cross and followed up with another goal on a rebound off of her own shot to put the Buffs up 2-0 nine minutes later.
Alisa Velasquez attempted the final shot of the first half but was denied by Dippel.
Lauren Neely sent a long kick towards the net but was blocked five minutes into the second half, and a shot by
Gaby Larson was stopped by a diving save to render the Pioneers (4-2, 0-1 LSC) scoreless.
Rachel Peters sent a pass to
Maddi Nolton, but it just missed wide in the 69th minute.
Martin's success was found in the 88th minute on an impressive shot to the left-hand corner to give TWU hope with 82 seconds remaining. The Lady Buffs recorded two yellow cards within the final minute, but the Pioneers were unable to connect once more to end the contest.
The goal by Martin was her fourth on the season for her to remain the team leader, and keeper
Samantha Jimenez tallied five saves.
