Sophie Haywood leads the Lions with three goals and an assist on the year, while Caitlin Duty has only allowed four goals as keeper and has totaled 31 saves.

History between TWU and TAMUC
The Pioneers and Lions split a pair of meetings last season, with TWU recording their then-biggest upset in program history in the first matchup of 2016, a 3-0 win over the then-No. 11 Lions Sept. 28 on TWU Soccer Field. However, the Lions hold a sizable series advantage over the Pioneers at 16-2 dating to 2002. The outcome between the two teams has also ended in a tie during six of the 24 overall meetings.

COMMERCE, Texas (Oct. 12, 2016) – Two goals by No. 24 Texas A&M-Commerce within the final six minutes sunk Texas Woman's University in a 2-0 loss Wednesday night on Lion Soccer Field.
The contest was a draw through 84 minutes until Vicky Back took a cross from the right side by Savannah Grasser and scored on a header. Three minutes later, Grasser was on the receiving end to poke in a goal on a cross by Jessica Coronado.
Chelsea Martin's opportunity to cut into the deficit on a penalty kick sailed high in the 88th minute.
TWU (6-6-1, 2-5-1 LSC) took nine shots on the evening to 13 from the Lions (9-3-0, 6-1-0 LSC). TAMUC attempted two more shots on goal (7-to-5) and tried 10 corner kicks compared to three by the Pioneers.
Samantha Jimenez recorded five saves for TWU.
