DENTON, Texas – The Texas Woman's University gymnastics program will add four student-athletes on National Signing Day, head coach
Lisa Bowerman announced Wednesday.
Brooke Ferrari, Rubylyn Goad, Allison Landry, and Kamille Zarlengo have all signed National Letters of Intent to compete for the Pioneers.
"This 2022 signing class is without a doubt special," said Bowerman "These four ladies possess all of the talent, character, and competitive fire that will continue to take this program to new heights. The future is bright for these Pioneers and for TWU Gymnastics."
A native of Longmont, Colorado, Brooke Ferrari joins the Pioneers program after attending Silver Creek High School. Ferrari has competed for Airborne Gymnastics, where she has gained eight years of experience, competing on a 2019 Level 10 Team state champion and becoming a 2019 national qualifier. Ferrari has also volunteered at the Boulder Recreational Center, teaching youth gymnastics.
"Brooke is an athlete who brings a combination of power and poise to her gymnastics," said Bowerman. "She has the ability to contribute right away in our Bars and Floor line-ups, while continuing to develop her skills on Vault and Beam, with the ability to ultimately compete all four. She has an incredible work ethic and will continue to increase the level of competitiveness within or line-ups."
Goad, a product of Newnan, Ga., attended Newnan High School. She spent four years at the Newnan School of Gymnastics, where she competed on a team state champion while capturing all-around state champion honors.
"Ruby has a smile that can energize an entire room, while also radiating intensity," said Bowerman "She is an incredibly talented all-around athlete who we see finding a spot right away in our Beam and Floor line-ups, and possessing the ability to add the other two events quickly into the mix. Ruby will captivate our fans and will certainly leave her mark on the TWU Gymnastics history books!"
A native of Pearland, Texas, Landry attended Pearland High School. She competed for Pearland Elite, where she has posted career highs of 9.700 on vault, 9.700 on bars, 9.350 on beam, and 9.500 on floor.
"We are excited that Ally has chosen to stay right here in her home state of Texas for her college career," said Bowerman. "Ally is an incredibly talented athlete who will make an immediate impact on our program and has the potential to compete on all 4 events in her first year. Ally's gymnastics is a beautiful blend of grace and power. She will no doubt be a fan favorite in KMA and in every arena we compete in across the nation!"
Zarlengo, a native of Littleton, Colorado, joins the Pioneers program after attending Chatfield Senior High School, where she is an honor roll student. She comes to TWU by way of Incline Gymnastics Training Center, where she gained 15 years of experience as a gymnast. She was a two-time western qualifier and a national qualifier in the spring of 2021.
"Kami is a "total package" student-athlete who brings exceptional leadership skills and strength on all four events," said Bowerman. "Kami is an athlete we have been tracking for quite some time now, and since the first time we met her at a camp we were blown away by her drive, discipline and commitment to her team and to her goals. Kami will have a positive influence on our program in many ways both in and out of the gym."
