DENTON, Texas (October 11, 2022) – Pioneer fans – get ready for midweek fun under the lights at Pioneer Soccer Park on Wednesday, October 12 at 7 p.m.

TWU (1-7-4) recently tied #17 West Texas A&M at home on Saturday, October 8, 0-0. UT Tyler (7-2-2) defeated Lubbock Christian at home in Tyler, Texas 1-0 on Saturday.

The Pioneers, who have five Lone Star Conference matches remaining on the schedule, will look to get a result against the Patriots Wednesday night.

THREE POINTS FOR A DUB

• D-FENCE: On Saturday, the Pioneers battled West Texas A&M. The Lady Buffs, before playing at Pioneer Soccer Park, had scored 27 goals this season. They averaged 2.25 goals per game. However, the TWU defense held the Lady Buffs scoreless across 90 minutes of action. Senior goalkeeper Morgan Sherman finished with her third clean slate of the season, closing the game with eight saves.
• SIMILAR OPPONENTS: Against West Texas A&M, UT Tyler lost 3-2. The Patriots tied Oklahoma Christian 0-0, while the Pioneers defeated OC 1-0. Both teams tied Texas A&M International—the Pioneers 1-1, and the Patriots 0-0.
• LOOK BACK: TWU is 3-0 all-time against UT Tyler. In 2021, the Pioneers defeated the Patriots on the road 2-1. In 2020, TWU won 1-0 in Denton, Texas, and, in 2019, the Pioneers won 3-2 in double overtime.
