PIONEERS CONTINUE TO CLIMB IN D2SIDA NATIONAL AND REGIONAL POLLS

Brielle Woods and the Pioneers moved up to No. 18 in the D2SIDA National Poll this week.

DENTON, Texas (Nov. 30, 2022) – After debuting for the first time in program history on the D2SIDA National Poll last week, the Texas Woman's basketball team continued to climb up to No. 18 in this week's national poll.

TWU (5-1) continued their winning streak last week, defeating Henderson State 75-66 at home on Nov. 26. The Pioneers will tip off Lone Star Conference play tonight, Nov. 30, against Midwestern State.

In the game against Henderson State, the Pioneers were led in scoring by Ashley Ingram with 21 points and Ngozi Obineke with 17 points.

Jada Celsur topped the leaderboard for the Pioneers in the rebound category, recording her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Additionally, TWU continues to receive votes (20) in the WBCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.

In the D2SIDA South Central Regional Poll, the Pioneers moved up from being ranked No. 3 to their highest regional ranking at No. 2, just behind West Texas A&M.

"This honor is a testament to the hard work our team brings every single day," TWU Head Coach Beth Jillson said. "We continue to not put our entire focus on the numbers but on winning the moments in practice and in the games. We are excited to move into conference play tonight and continue to improve."
