PORTALES, New Mexico (Feb. 3, 2022) – It may be a snow day in Denton, Texas, but for the Texas Woman's University basketball team it's a game day.
 
TWU (13-5, 6-1 Lone Star Conference) traveled to Portales, New Mexico to take on Eastern New Mexico University (8-7, 4-5) in LSC action.
 
The Pioneers come into Thursday night's game on a three-game winning streak, after defeating the University of Texas - Tyler on Monday, Jan. 31, 57-51.
 
The Greyhounds last played on Saturday, Jan. 29 on the road at Angelo State University, falling to the Rambelles 78-61.
 
Thursday night's game will be played in Greyhound Arena at 5 p.m. MST, 6 pm CST and will be a celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

WINNING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND

• LET IT SNOW: The expression is usually let it rain, but in this case the Pioneers let it snow from the 3-point line on Monday against UT-Tyler. TWU hit their most threes in a game this season (nine), as the Pioneers shot 40.9% from behind the arc. Most of their 3-point shooting came in the fourth quarter, when TWU hit five threes to seal the game. Sadie Moyer and Brielle Woods both hit three threes, and Scout Huffman went 100% from the 3-point line (2-2).
• COLD SPELL: The Pioneers pressure defense has held their opponents to some of their lowest scoring performances of the season when playing TWU. In their last loss to Angelo State, the Greyhounds only shot 32% from the field, 13.3% from three, and 50% from the free throw line. If TWU can hold, ENMU to those numbers or lower, then they can secure their seventh win of LSC play.
• CLEAN THE GLASS: In their last game, the Greyhounds grabbed 48 rebounds – Iyanna McCurdy personally grabbed 16. The Pioneers in their last game grabbed 36 rebounds. They will have to crash the glass and secure the rebound against the Greyhounds to get the win.
