DENTON, Texas - The Texas Woman's University Department of Athletics, in conjunction with Embassy Suites of Denton, a proud corporate partner of TWU Athletics, will host a watch party on Friday, March 11 as the TWU basketball team opens NCAA tournament play against MSU Denver. Fans are invited to gather beginning at 7 p.m., and the contest will tip-off at 7:30. 

Eight teams will begin competition in Canyon, Texas on the campus of West Texas A&M University beginning Friday for the NCAA South Central regional championship. TWU enters play as the fourth seed, and the winner of Friday's TWU/MSU Denver game will play on Saturday at 7:30 against the winner of top-seeded West Texas A&M and eighth-seeded Colorado Mesa. This will be the third appearance in the NCAA tournament for the Pioneers, and the first since 2016. The Pioneers will be looking for the first NCAA tournament win in program history, and open play against a team that they faced in just the second game of the season.

TWU and MSU Denver squared off in a three-overtime classic on Nov. 13, with the Pioneers claiming an 86-83 win.
