DENTON, Texas (May 25, 2022) – The 2022-23 Texas Woman's University wrestling team continues to grow their inaugural class of Pioneers.
On Wednesday, May 25, TWU wrestling head coach
Randi Miller announced the addition of two athletes to her first-year roster, Madeleine Morris and Brooke Zejda.
Morris, from Katy, Texas, graduated from Cypress Park High School. During her time at Cypress Park, Morris played volleyball for one season and wrestled for four years. She earned wrestling All-State accolades and Academic All-District honors. An honor-roll student, Morris will be majoring in biology at TWU.
A graduate of Plano West Senior High School, Zejda wrestled and competed in Mixed Martial Arts for 10 years. She is a four-time state qualifier, a sixth-place state finisher, and a state runner-up. During her free time, Zejda said she volunteers for a program to help children with special needs, "in honor of one of my sisters who has Down's syndrome."
With their accomplished wrestling resumes, Morris and Zejda will make an immediate impact on the inaugural Pioneer wrestling team, whose season begins in Fall 2022.
