DENTON, Texas (Sept. 16, 2022) – After starting Lone Star Conference play 1-0, the Texas Woman's soccer team looks to make it 2-0 in LSC action on Saturday, Sept. 17 at Pioneer Soccer Park.
 
TWU (1-4-1, 1-0) went on the road on Wednesday and defeated Oklahoma Christian in their first conference match-up of 2022. The Pioneers will look to keep the winning streak alive and secure their first win at Pioneer Soccer Park of 2022.
 
On Saturday, Sept. 17, the Pioneers will face the Texas A&M International Dustdevils at noon at Pioneer Soccer Park.

• Saturday is Pioneer Family Fun Day! TWU student parents are invited to bring their children to the match. Beginning at 11 am, in the area surrounding the soccer field, there will be yard games and goodie bags for attendees. All student parents and their children will receive free admission to the match. Children will also be invited to walk out with the TWU starters and participate in halftime games. Make sure to arrive early to enjoy the day of fun!

• History Repeats: TWU and TAMIU have met four times, making this their fifth meeting. In all four of their previous meetings, the Pioneers have come out victorious. The last two meetings have been on the road in Laredo. The last time the two teams met in Denton was in 2006, when TWU defeated the Dustdevils 5-1.
• OPEN OPPORTUNITIES: In the Pioneers last match at Pioneer Soccer Park, TWU recorded 25 shots, 10 shots on frame; nevertheless, the Pioneers only put one shot in the net. TWU has scored three goals on the season. They will look to continue to capitalize on their opportunities this Saturday.
• KEEP THE STREAK GOING: The Dustdevils have lost their last three matches, two on the road and one in Laredo. The Pioneers are coming off their first win of the season. TWU will look to keep their winning streak alive and the Dustdevils losing streak going.
