DENTON, Texas (September 19, 2022) – It's time to pack the house for matchday this Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. against Angelo State (6-8,2-0).
The Texas Woman's volleyball team (10-4,1-1) are eager to play their third conference match of the season in Kitty Magee Arena. After a weekend split, the Pioneers were victorious against St. Mary's (5-8,1-1), but suffered a disappointing lost to St. Edward's (4-9,1-1) on Saturday afternoon.
The Rams are 2-0 in conference play and currently have the advantage over the Pioneers. Last season, the Pioneers played the Rams in four sets and dropped three in KMA.
Hoping to change the narrative the Pioneers will be looking for leaders on and off the court to seal this victory.
Tori Woods has continued to be a consistent threat for the Pioneers at the service line and in kills. Woods leads the conference with 22 aces this season, coming in close second in kills with an efficiency of .217. Leading the offense for the Pioneers is
Lizzy Reed, who manages seven assists per set. Reed registered a double-double earlier this season in both assists and digs.
Just this past weekend,
Trixie Oche dominated the net, recording six blocks against St. Edward's, while
Yanely Pabon ranks number four in digs in the conference, averaging five digs per set.
On Wednesday, the Pioneers will be looking to record their second conference win of the season.

- Sitting at number six in the conference for kills and number five in blocks, the Pioneers outrank the Rams in both categories.
- This season the Pioneers have relied heavily on their nonstarters to keep the momentum going, which has been deemed to be successful.
