DENTON, Texas (Jan. 23, 2023) – After averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds in last week's games, Ashley Ingram was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Ingram, a sophomore from Bridgeport, Texas, helped guide the Pioneers to a 2-0 week in Kitty Magee arena.

On Thursday, Jan. 19, TWU defeated nationally ranked West Texas A&M 62-52. Against the Lady Buffs, Ingram scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, recording her fourth double-double of the season. Of Ingram's 12 rebounds, three of those were on the offensive end, which also led the team.

Then, on Saturday, Jan. 21, Ingram utilized her strength in the paint to lead the Pioneers with 20 points and eight rebounds in their 76-69 win over Lubbock Christian. Ingram's 20-point performance against LSC marked the sixth time this season she has scored 20 or more points.

Furthermore, Ingram connected on her 20 points in an efficient manner, going 8-10 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line.

Ingram also finished the week with six blocks, which moved her into a tie for No. 10 on the TWU All-Time Block List with 46.

In the Lone Star Conference, Ingram ranks fourth in scoring, averaging 15.8 points per game. She also ranks fourth in free throw percentage, shooting 83.6% from the charity stripe.

The award marks the first player of the week award for Ingram this season, but the fourth of her career. It is the third time this season a Pioneer has been named an Offensive Player of the Week.

TWU currently sits at the top of the LSC, as they are undefeated in the conference and divisional play.
