DENTON, Texas (Oct. 25, 2023) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team continues their three match home stand tomorrow night against Midwestern State at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, the Pioneers will be honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month,so we encourage all fans to wear pink to the match. Additionally, the Pioneers will be auctioning off their pink jerseys from last year's match. All proceeds will go to benefit TWU's Student Health Services Pink Promises project.
TWU (14-7, 6-4) will meet Midwestern State (4-18, 1-9) for the first time this season. Most recently, TWU dropped two matches in Kitty Magee Arena last weekend to UT Tyler and Dallas Baptist, while MSU also lost to UT Tyler and DBU at home in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Wednesday will mark the 59th meeting between the two teams.

- FAMILIAR FOE: The Pioneers are 23-5 against the Mustangs at home in KMA. Last season, the Pioneers fell to the Mustangs in five sets on the road. Tori Woods led the Pioneers in the loss with 14 kills. Prior to 2022, TWU was on a seven-game win streak against MSU, with five of those wins coming at home in KMA. The Pioneers have only lost five matches in Denton, Texas to the Mustangs across 28 meetings in KMA. In Lone Star Conference matches, the Pioneers own the advantage, as they are currently 29-10 all-time against MSU.
- LAST MATCHES: In their last match against UT Tyler, the Mustangs lost in four sets. They hit .226 across 45 kills. They recorded five aces, 45 assists, five blocks and 57 digs in the loss. They were led on offense by Riley Rabedeaux. Brooke Parker led in the way in assists with 25, and Taygon Jones topped the Mustangs' leader board with 19 digs. For the Pioneers in their last match, Woods led the way with eight kills, Grace Reynolds led with 17 assists and Eduarda Dutra topped the Pioneers' leader board with 12 digs.
- LOOK AT LSC: The Pioneers rank in the top three in the LSC in service aces (1.88 per set), kills (13.72 per set), assists (12.83 per set), hitting percentage (.250) and lowest opponents blocks (1.61 per set). MSU ranks second in digs, averaging 18.38 per set. Individually, Cara Pool ranks second in hitting percentage (.383) and Kady Hansen ranks four in hitting percentage (.355). In service aces in the LSC, Grace Reynolds averages 0.49 aces per set and ranks second in the LSC.
