FORT SMITH, Ark. (Nov. 11, 2023) – In their final game of the regular season, the Texas Woman's volleyball team meets UAFS on the road on Saturday at 2 p.m.
TWU (19-7, 11-4) looks to close out the regular season against UAFS (21-7, 11-4) with a win.
Last night, the Pioneers defeated Oklahoma Christian in four sets to improve to 11-4 in Lone Star Conference action. On Friday at home, UAFS swept Midwestern State to also record their 11th win in LSC action.
In the LSC standings, the Pioneers and the Lions are currently tied for fourth with the same LSC record.

REGULAR SEASON FINALE
- HISTORY: The Pioneers are currently .500 against the Lions with a 2-2 all-time record. In their last meeting in 2022, TWU won the match in five sets. They were led by Tori Woods with 17 kills in the match. The Pioneers are 1-1 on the road against UAFS. In 2019, their last time in Fort Smith, Ark., TWU fell in three straight sets. Before that, in 2013, TWU defeated the Lions on the road in five sets.
- LSC STATS: In the LSC, the Pioneers are ranked fourth in points (17.37 per set), second in hitting percentage (.250), second in assists (13.15 per set), second in kills (13.95 per set) and third in service aces (1.83 per set). On the other side, UAFS is ranked first in digs (18.96 per set), 12th in service aces (1.41 per set), seventh in blocks (2.17 per set), fifth in kills (13.47 per set), sixth in assists (12.33 per set), sixth in hitting percentage (.225) and fifth in points (17.02 per set). In the most recent NCAA South Central Regional Rankings, the Pioneers were ranked seventh, and the Lions were ranked 10th.
- LEADERS FROM LAST NIGHT: In last night's win over OC, the Pioneers were led by three players in double-digits – Kaia Saylor with 13 kills, Kady Hansen with 11 and Cara Pool with 10. Pool also led TWU in block assists with six. Grace Reynolds dished out the most assists with 24, and Luna França led with 18 digs. For the Lions in their sweep over Midwestern State, they hit .289 on the match and were led in kills by No. 2 Sophia McIntyre with 11 kills and No. 10 Caelyn Gunn with 10 kills. No. 13 Lauren Weber tabbed four service aces for UAFS, and No. 4 Chloe Price recorded 35 assists. Finally, No. 12 Paola Fragalle led UAFS with 18 digs.
