SHREVEPORT, La. (Feb. 10, 2023) – It's a Midwest Independent Conference showdown in Shreveport tonight, as the Texas Woman's gymnastics team meets Centenary for a dual meet tonight at the Gold Dome at 6 p.m.
Most recently, the Pioneers faced Iowa State and New Hampshire for a tri-meet at home in Kitty Magee Arena. At the meet, TWU placed second, scoring a 193.225.
For Centenary, they last competed in St. Charles, Missouri against Lindenwood and Greenville. At the away meet, Centenary placed second with a 187.000.
The Pioneers have met Centenary once already this season in KMA on Jan. 20. TWU won the tri-meet, scoring a 194.150, while Centenary placed third with a 191.325.

TOUCH WARM-UP
- WEEKLY HONORS: This week, the Pioneers claimed their third MIC Performance of the Week honor in a row. Freshman Brooke Ferrari scored a career-high 9.900 in the anchor spot on uneven bars to claim the award. Look for Ferrari to continue to hold strong for the Pioneers on bars tonight.
- AT THE DOME: The Pioneers last competed in the Dome on March 12, 2022, beating Centenary with a 194.825. In 32 meetings against Centenary, TWU has won 30 times. Overall, they have a 12-1 all-time away record against Centenary. TWU's 194.825 in 2022 marks the highest score the Pioneers' have recorded against Centenary.
- IMPACTFUL EVENTS: In their last meet, TWU recorded a season-high 48.975 on floor. With a high score of a 9.875 from senior Alix Pierce, all five scoring Pioneers' hit a 9.725 or higher. While Ferrari led the Pioneers on bars, Pierce was not far behind with a 9.825 to also lead TWU. On beam, Steelie King topped the meet leaderboard with a 9.850. Finally, on vault, Daisy Woodring continued her consistent high performances, hitting a 9.750.
