DENTON, Texas (Feb. 25, 2023) – After recording a season-high last week against Oklahoma, the Texas Woman's gymnastics team returns to Kitty Magee Arena for a dual meet against West Virginia on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m.

  • It's Pack the House! TWU students can enter a drawing to win a $500 Housing Scholarship. The winner will be announced following the final rotation at the meet.
  • The Pioneers will be celebrating Black History Month tomorrow by honoring influential African American gymnasts and athletes during the meet.
  • Tomorrow is also Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day – TWU will be honoring faculty and staff prior to march-in on Sunday.

A LOOK AT THE MOUNTAINEERS
  • MOST RECENTLY: WVU competed last night, Feb. 24 at Oklahoma. In Norman, Oklahoma, the Mountaineers scored a season-high road score of 195.675 to place second to the Sooners. At the meet, WVU scored highest on floor with a 49.150. They were led by junior Ellen Collins, who matched her career-high of a 9.900. This weekend will mark the first two-meet weekend for the Mountaineers of 2023.
  • HISTORICAL LOOK: The Pioneers have meet WVU three times in program history. They last competed against WVU in West Virginia on Feb. 11, 2022, placing second with a 194.500 to WVU's 195.850. The only other time the two teams competed against each other was in 2020 at a tri-meet hosted by Oklahoma. The Pioneers scored a 193.875.
  • AGAINST OU: The Pioneers scored a season-high last week, as they continue to trend upward in the second half of the season. TWU scored a season-high of 48.825 on vault, a season-high of 48.975 on beam and a season-high 49.000 on floor. They were led by Alix Pierce with a 9.875 on floor and a career-high 9.875 on beam. Madeline Griffith matched her career-high of a 9.825 on the uneven bars. Steelie King and Daisy Woodring led TWU on vault with a 9.825s.
