2023 ALL-MPSF TEAM

SEATTLE, Washington (March 10, 2023) –
For the first time in program history, two Texas Woman's artistic swimming athletes have been named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Team.

In just the second year of its existence, the All-MPSF teams included a first and a second team this season, whereas last year, the MPSF named one 12-person All-MPSF Team. This year, the All-MPSF First and Second Teams featured eight swimmers on the first team and nine swimmers on the second team.

The teams are determined by the number of individual points scored at last week's MPSF Championships.

With 31 points, Ashley Latchford, a sophomore from Buffalo, New York, earned All-MPSF Second Team honors, and Maribella Falconer, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, scored 29 points to earn All-MPSF Second Team honors.

"I am so proud of these athletes and their finishes at the MPSF Championship," TWU Head Coach Sara Lilly said. "They commit to giving 100% at each practice and it shows when they compete. We have some work to do in the last weeks leading up to the Collegiate National Championship, but I cannot wait to see these athletes compete."

The accolade marks the second career All-MPSF honor for Latchford and the first for Falconer in her career.

At the MPSF Championships, Latchford placed third in the solo competition and also competed in A Technical Competitions, trio and team.

Falconer swam in A Technical Competitions, duet and team.

Along with the All-MPSF First and Second Teams, the MPSF honored Lindi Schroeder, a sophomore from Stanford, as the MPSF Swimmer of the Year, Yara Elian, from Stanford, as the MPSF Freshman of the Year and Megan Abarca, from Stanford, as the MPSF Coach of the Year.

The Pioneers will wrap up their historical second season of competition at the U.S. Collegiate Championships beginning Wednesday, March 22.
