DENTON, Texas (April 29, 2025) – Committed to excellence in the pool and in the classroom, six Pioneers were named to the
2025 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for the list, student-athletes much be at least a sophomore academically, complete one full year at the institution, compete in a minimum of 50% of competitions and have a 3.0 or higher grade point average.
Earning their third straight All-Academic honor was a pair of seniors:
Maribella Falconer, a senior who will graduating with a degree in Kinesiology – Pre-Physical Therapy, and
Anaya Kashikar, a senior who will also be graduating with a Kinesiology – Pre-Physical Therapy.
Juniors
Candela Fidalgo Garcia and
Kimberly Poitras both earned the honor for the second straight season. Fidalgo Garcia is majoring in Kinesiology – Exercise Science, and Poitras is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology – Pre-Physical Therapy.
Sophomores
Maria Fernández-Montenegro Serrano and
Maya Schwickert were named All-Academic for the first time in their careers. Fernández-Montenegro Serrano is pursuing a degree in Medical Technology, and Schwickert is double majoring in Chemistry and Mathematics.
