DENTON, Texas (March 11, 2023) – Texas Woman's STUNT hits big on senior night to record home win in Kitty Magee Arena Friday, March 10.
The Pioneers pushed themselves to new heights as they defeated UT Tyler 15-11.
It was a magical moment for seniors
Lauren Murphy and
Ashley Marangakis as the Pioneers recorded their first home win in KMA since their inaugural season kicked off in 2022.
"Being able to celebrate our two seniors, Lauren and Ashley last night was the cherry on top," said head coach
Jasmine Owens. "With their dedication and love for the sport and their teammates, it was easy to celebrate them and their efforts over the past tow years."
Of the Pioneers,
Kaitlin Abanto scored her second highest score of the season with 14 points.
"Our goal for this senior night game and the rest of the season was to make every routine cleaner," said Owens. "Every time we took the mat we had beautiful moments, and multiple athletes throwing new skills we haven't seen in competition."
The Pioneers will be headed to San Antonio, Texas to take on St. Mary's and UT Tyler on Saturday, March 18 beginning at 1 p.m.
