THE ROAD BEGINS HERE
- LAST MEETING WITH THE LADY CHAPS: The Pioneers met LCU last week on Saturday, March 4 in the LSC Championships Semifinal game. TWU recorded their largest margin of victory this season against the Lady Chaps in the 84-49 win. It also marked the lowest points scored by LCU this season. The Pioneers went on an offensive tear in the win, going 13-18 from the three point line to shoot 72.2% on the game and set an LSC Championships record. TWU also recorded their highest number of assists on the season in the win, recording 23 in the game. Brielle Woods went 100% from the field and the three for 17 points, and Ashley Ingram also led with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Sadie Moyer was the other Pioneer in double-digits with 15 points.
- DEFENSE ON FIRE: The Pioneers defense was also top-notch their win on Saturday. TWU held LCU to just 7.1% from the three point line and just 29.3% from the field. They forced the Lady Chaps into nine turnovers and scored eight points off those turnovers. The Pioneers will look to be even more disruptive on defense to throw off the rhythm of the Lady Chaps.
- CRASH THE BOARDS: Rebounding will also be key in the game on Friday afternoon. In their last meeting, TWU outrebounded the Lady Chaps 42-30. In their meeting during the regular season, the rebound battle was close with LCU taking the slight advantage 29-28. The Pioneers won the game in the regular season as well, 75-69. TWU went 100% from the free throw line, 19-19, and scored 23 bench points to LCU's 12. Rebounding, bench scoring and free throws will be key in the game on Friday.
