- A LOOK AT THE LIONS: Last year, the Lions finished the season with an overall record of 2-14-1. They return three All-MIAA players from last season: goalkeeper Lily Doneghue, defender Sofia Fatino, and midfielder Maya Greenquist. In the most recent MIAA Coaches Poll, the Lions were picked to finish 10th in the MIAA this season.
- A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: The Pioneers returned All-LSC Third Team honoree Alyssa Valdez this season. TWU was recently picked to finish 11th in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll. With a group of 14 strong returners, the Pioneers also welcome 14 new players to the roster this season, which will provide a dynamic change in TWU's attack and defensive pressure.
- OPEN OPPORTUNITIES: Last season, the Pioneers averaged 10.7 shots per game, while the Lions averaged 9.8. TWU will look to generate more looks on frame this season and take advantage of open opportunities on goal. Returning Lions goalkeeper Doneghue averaged a 74.3% save percentage and allowed a total of 18 goals on the 2022 season. TWU will look to test Doneghue tomorrow night.
