DENTON, Texas (Sept. 19 2023) – Midwestern State is the first Lone Star Conference opponent for the Texas Woman's soccer team. TWU is back on the road tomorrow and will take on MSU on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.

The undefeated Pioneers (5-0-1) will be playing the Mustangs (3-1-2) who are coming off of a third-straight win against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon. TWU looks to start their first conference match up with a win against MSU and remain unbeaten.

BACK IN TIME

The all-time record between these two teams favors the Mustangs 9-16-5. However, this year is different for the Pioneers as they have had a record breaking season so far.  The last two matches between them in 2021 and 2022, have resulted in wins for MSU, 5-0 and 2-1 respectively.

UNDEFEATED PIONEERS

  • TWU is one of only three LSC teams that remain undefeated this season, along with Oklahoma Christian and Dallas Baptist.

  • The Pioneers are eager to score some goals after dominating their last match against Ouachita Baptist and coming off scoreless - a game that ended with 17 shots for the Pioneers against five for the Tigers.
