DENTON, Texas (Sept. 21 2023) – The Texas Woman's soccer team is back in Denton and will play St. Edward's University on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. at Pioneer Soccer Park.

This will be the Pioneers' first Lone Star Conference game of the season at home, and they will look to win their first LSC game on Saturday in front of a local crowd.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT 

TWU (5-1-1) is coming off a 1-0 loss against Midwestern State on Wednesday night. The Pioneers were superior and dominated the shot opportunities but were not able to get a result in Wichita Falls. This marked the first loss of the season for the Pioneers, who have only conceded two goals in seven games. 

SEU (2-1-1) recorded a 2-1 win on Wednesday night against Angelo State. The match was fairly even, and both teams scored early in the 12th minute. The senior Ari Ramirez gave the Hilltoppers the lead over Angelo State in the 66th minute. 

CHANGING THE COURSE OF HISTORY 

The all-time record between these two teams favors SEU, as they won ten of the last 13 games played. TWU is not only eager to get their first LSC win but also to change the history between them. 

In the last meeting, the Hilltoppers earned three points against the Pioneers with a 2-0 result, but TWU defended their home field and defeated SEU 2-1 in 2021.
