PARTY IN KMA
  • HOME SWEET HOME: The Pioneers played their home opener on Thursday, defeating Ouachita Baptist in four sets. TWU won the first set, dropped the second and then went on to win two straight to close the match. Kaia Saylor led the Pioneers with 18 kills, while Tori Woods and Kady Hansen both added nine kills for TWU. The Pioneers built several longstanding runs throughout the match, which helped propel them to the home opening victory.
  • A LOOK AT THE BRONCHOS: UCO has started out the season 4-1, with their only loss coming in five sets on Tuesday, Sept. 5 to Southern Nazarene. Prior to their one loss on the road, the Bronchos went undefeated, 4-0, at the Midwestern State Invitational. No. 14 Sydney Huck currently leads the Bronchos in kills with 59 on the season. No. 1 Lindsey Houran leads the Bronchos in assists with 122. No. 7 Jenna Karp has the most blocks for the Bronchos with 8.
  • TIME FOR HISTORY: TWU and UCO have not met since 2018 when they played a neutral site in Durant, Okla. Before that, the two teams had not met since 2011. TWU has fell in the last five meetings. A win over the Bronchos today would be the first for the Pioneers since 2008 and the first in Denton since 2006.
