DENTON, Texas (Jan. 22, 2024) – While preparing to jump start their third season, Texas Woman's STUNT released their 2024 schedule.
The Pioneers are looking to build on an electric 2023 season where they finished with an improving 7-7 record and closed the year out with two wins in their season finale tournament in Springfield, Mo.
"Each year our goal is to continue to improve our skills and increase the number of routines we can complete - I'm proud to say we are well on our way to having a historic season for TWU STUNT," Head Coach Jasmine Owens said. "I'm most looking forward to seeing our rookies continue to learn and grow as athletes this season and for us to compete in the first ever Lone Star conference STUNT tournament!"
To start the 2024 season, TWU is on the road to take on UT Tyler on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. in Tyler, Texas. The Pioneers return to Denton for their home opener against Dallas Baptist on Friday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
TWU STUNT's road trip continues in Dallas, Texas, on Feb. 15 and 16, as they compete in the DBU tournament. The Pioneers face off against the Patriots from UT Tyler for a second time on Friday, Feb. 15 at 1:45 p.m. and then take on Oklahoma City at 4:15 p.m. On Saturday, TWU finishes the tournament versus the University of Central Arkansas and Southern Nazarene.
Road matches for the Pioneers end momentarily after they take a pit stop in San Antonio, Texas, to take on St. Mary's on Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. TWU then returns home to host a tournament in Kitty Magee Arena on March 1 and 2.
Trevecca Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist are on the list to battle first on Friday, March 1 at 4:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. On Saturday, March 2, TWU faces Drury at 3:20 p.m. and finishes Senior Day against St. Mary's for the second time at 4:30 p.m. The Pioneers will be honoring senior Laurel Jones before the St. Mary's game.
Coach Owens and her squad will hit the road again and head to Nashville, Tenn., for a Trevecca Nazarene tournament on March 15 and 16. Tiffin (Ohio) is the first matchup at 2 p.m. on Friday, with Buena Vista following at 8:30 p.m. The Pioneers finish the tournament with battles against Mercyhurst North East and Drury.
To conclude the 2024 regular season, TWU will take on Missouri Baptist, Southwest Baptist, University of Central Arkansas, and Maryville in Springfield, Missouri, for a two-day tournament hosted by Drury on April 6 and 7.
