TWU SOCCER REMAINS SEVENTH IN NCAA DIVISION II REGIONAL RANKINGS

DENTON, Texas (Nov. 13, 2024) - The NCAA Division II third regional rankings were announced today. The Texas women's soccer team ranks seventh among the top eight South Central Regional teams in the standings.

Of the eight ranked teams in the South Central Region, five belong to the Lone Star Conference. Texas Woman's University ranks among the five LSC teams followed by Angelo State, Dallas Baptist University, Midwestern State, and St. Mary's.

The Pioneers (11-3-4, 7-2-3) completed the regular season ranked third in the conference, one win ahead of fourth seeded Midwestern State (11-3-5, 6-2-5), after a thriller game that resulted in a double overtime (PK) victory yesterday against sixth seeded St. Edward's Hiltoppers. The Pioneers are set to face No. 2 seed Dallas Baptist (14-1-3, 10-1-2) in the semifinal round of the Lone Star Conference Championships on Friday, which will determine who will play in the LSC Championship game on Sunday, Nov. 17.

In their next matchup, TWU will face Dallas Baptist On Friday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m., in San Angelo, Texas, hosted by Angelo State.
