DENTON, Texas (Dec. 10, 2025) - The 2025 United Soccer Coaches NCAA All-Region teams have been announced, and for the fourth time in program history, the Pioneers earned multiple selections. This year marks a historic milestone, as three Pioneers were recognized, the most All-Region honorees in a single season for Texas Woman's.
Junior defender Erica Brelove was named to the first team, earning her third consecutive All-Region selection. Forward Giselle Gutierrez and freshman midfielder Jaida Arizmendi were both placed on the second team, giving TWU recognition at all three levels of the field.
"Congratulations to Erica on being named to the United Soccer Coaches First Team, and to Giselle and Jaida for earning Second Team honors," Assistant Coach Jazmine Navarro said. "This is a very well deserved award. These distinctions, voted on by the coaches we competed against throughout the season, reflect not only their individual talent but also the standard they set for our program each and every day. Their performance, work ethic, and leadership exemplify what it means to represent this team at the highest level. We're excited to have them back next season to see them continue to develop!"
This year's honors follow TWU's record-breaking season, as the Pioneers finished 16-4-3, 9-2-3, set a new program record for victories, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Second Round for the first time in history.
A three-year defensive anchor, Brelove continued her elite play in 2025. She started every match and logged 2,006 minutes, the most on the team, while leading a Pioneer back line that consistently stifled opponents. She added two goals, one game-winner, and recorded the first two assists of her career, showing her growing impact on both ends of the field. This is Brelove's third All-Region selection in all three seasons, one of the most impressive streaks in program history.
Gutierrez delivered one of the greatest attacking seasons ever recorded by a Pioneer. She started 22 of 23 matches, led TWU with a program-record 12 goals, and added six assists for a program-best 30 points in a single season. She also recorded 59 shots, 32 on goal, in 1,640 minutes played, and tallied three game-winning goals. Her performance earned her First Team All-Lone Star Conference honors, as well as a spot on the Division II CCA All-South Central Region First Team—TWU's first since 2017.
Arizmendi made an immediate impact, starting 20 of 21 matches and setting a new TWU single-season record with nine assists. She added three goals for 15 total points, the second-highest mark on the team. Arizmendi played over 1,400 minutes, produced 21 shots with eight on target, and recorded two game-winning goals. Her breakout year earned her LSC All-Freshman Team and Third Team All-LSC honors.
With the 2025 season in the history books, the Pioneers have much to build on. Thanks to Brelove's steady presence on defense, Gutierrez's record-setting offense and Arizmendi's instant impact in midfield, the Pioneers will enter 2026 with a strong core and growing depth that could carry the program even further.
