SAN ANGELO, Texas (Nov. 14, 2024) - The Texas Women's soccer team had four Pioneers honored by LSC officials at the championship reception for the LSC Women's Soccer postseason honors awards.

"We're happy for our four players that received all-conference awards tonight," Head Coach Babak Abouzar said. "Celeste has been a great presence in midfield for us on both sides of the ball. Erica has been a strong consistent defender all season long. Amanda has done a great job not only keeping us in games but also preserving leads for us. AV is an outside back who is not only a great one-on-one defender but can attack well and get involved in the attack. These four players have played key roles in the success of our team this season."

Alyssa Valdez, Amanda Farris, Celeste Beltran, and Erica Brelove were all named to All-Conference teams with Valdez making the first team, Farris on second, and Beltran and Brelove making the third team, respectively. The four Pioneers were accompanied by other players in the conference as they spread across first, second, and third-team honors.

Valdez has played and started all 18 games for the Pioneers on defense thus far. She has played a total of 1629 minutes and scored her first goal on the season in the team's regular season finale on Nov. 7 against Lubbock Christian. She currently has four assists and has contributed to 11 Pioneer shutouts.

Senior goalkeeper Farris leads the LSC in total shutouts with 11, shutouts per game, and is third in goals against average. Farris has only allowed 11 goals in 17 games and recorded 11 shutouts.

Beltran has also played and started in all 18 games for the Pioneers picking up her first career goal against St. Edward's on Oct. 5. She has three goals to go with team high six assists on the year. The junior midfielder is top five in the conference in assists and game winning goals.

Erica Brelove made the all-conference third team as a solid defender for the Pioneers with Valdez on the back line, guarding the opposing team's key players. The sophomore has assisted TWU in 11 shutouts as she also picked up her first assist against West Texas A&M on Nov.1.

TWU will look to lean on these four honorary players in their next matchup in the LSC Champions Semifinal Round vs DBU tomorrow night at 7:30 here in San Angelo, Texas at LeGand Soccer Complex.
