A LOOK AT THE OREDIGGERS: Coming in as the fifth pick on the RMAC Preseason Coaches Poll, Colorado School of Mines had a grand season last year as their overall record was 21-9. With four new players this season, the Orediggers hope to keep up the momentum they had last year. Though they fell to MSUB during their last game, Colorado School of Mines' head coach, Brittany Simpson, is now 220-126 in her 13th season and Emma Sixta matched her career high of 16 points during the game.
A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: As the Pioneers come off of their fifth win of the season, TWU hopes to keep this momentum going during their game on Wednesday. In their last game against SNU, Leila Patel proved to be a player to watch out for in this season, as she finished the night with a season high 19 points. Similarly, Ashley Ingram grabbed a career high 16 rebounds and scored 10 points, securing her second double-double of the season. On top of that, Jada Celsur matched her career high with two blocks during the game.
A HISTORICAL NIGHT: Make plan to arrive early to KMA, as the Pioneers will be unveiling their banners honoring the historical season last year. The banner celebration will begin at 5:50 p.m. While the Orediggers and the Pioneers have not faced each other often, of the three games they have played, TWU has defeated Colorado School of Mines each time. One of those three wins came last year, in the opening round of the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament, with TWU winning 81-72. With the Pioneers having a very successful start to their season, TWU hopes to keep this up as they walk into their fourth game ever against the Orediggers.
