DENTON, Texas (Feb. 7, 2024) – The Texas Woman's basketball team is currently on a 10-game win streak, all 10 which have been won by 10 or more points.
After adding two road wins to their resume last weekend, TWU (20-3, 14-1) moved up in both national polls.
On the
Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 Poll, the Pioneers moved up from No. 10 to No. 9 this week.
From the South Central Region, Colorado School of Mines (18-3) fell to Adams State last week, and they dropped from No. 9 to No. 15 on the WBCA Poll.
Texas A&M International (19-4) is still receiving votes.
Ashland (19-1) ranks first on the WBCA Top 25 Poll, as the top three remain unchanged – Gannon (23-1) sits at No. 2, Union (21-1) ranks No. 3.
On the
D2CSC Division II Media Poll, the Pioneers rose from No. 18 to No. 13, while Colorado School of Mines dropped from No. 10 to No. 14. Texas A&M International moved from not being ranked to No. 25 this week. After dropping a game to UAFS, UT Tyler (19-5) fell out of the rankings. UT Permian Basin (17-3) is receiving votes this week on the D2CSC Poll.
The lone undefeated team in Division II, Southern Nazarene (20-0) ranks first on the D2CSC National Poll.
TWU rose back to No. 1 on the
D2CSC South Central Region Poll, after being ranked at No. 2 last week. Colorado School of Mines is No. 2, and Texas A&M International is No. 3.
Additionally, this week, the Pioneers were mentioned at No. 10 on the
Division II Power 10 rankings, which are released weekly by Wayne Cavadi. Cavadi ranked the Pioneers are No. 10 this week.
TWU has the top PI in the South Central Region. The Pioneers also rank 17th in the NCAA Division II in field goal percentage, averaging 45.63% per game.
TWU returns to action tomorrow Feb. 8 at home against St. Edward's at 6 p.m.
