RALEIGH, N.C. (March 10, 2024) – Brooke Ferrari scored a career high 9.925 and tied the Texas Woman's gymnastics program record for individual score on bars to highlight the Pioneers' Sunday quad meet at NC State.
On Sunday, March 10,TWU competed at quad meet hosted by NC State, which featured NC State, Penn State and Penn. The Pioneers recorded their highest event score of the day on vault and closed the meet with a 194.575.
The Pioneers started the night on the floor exercise.
Daisy Woodring led TWU in the rotation with a 9.825. Seniors led the way for TWU on floor, as
Madeline Gose and
Steelie King both scored 9.750s.
Emma Brkljacic scored a 9.700 for the Pioneers, and
Sophie Hernandez rounded out the top five scores for TWU with a 9.625 in the anchor spot. TWU closed the first rotation with a 48.650.
In the second rotation, TWU moved over to the vault, where they scored their highest event score of the day with a 48.700. Woodring also topped the Pioneers' leaderboard for the second straight rotation, scoring a 9.800 on vault. Then, TWU remained consistent as four Pioneers scored 9.725s to lead TWU to the 48.700 – Brkljacic,
Kaitlyn Hoiland,
Sophia Isbell and
Steelie King all recorded 9.725s.
TWU went to the bars for the third rotation, where Ferrari displayed her historical performance. With her 9.925, Ferrari tied for the event title on the uneven bars. Hoiland, in the anchor spot, displayed a great routine, scoring a 9.850.
Kami Zarlengo matched her season high with a 9.825. Bars proved to be the career high spot, as
Aaliyah Gilmore scored a career high 9.800 for TWU. TWU closed the third rotation with a 48.650.
In the final rotation, TWU competed on the balance beam. Hernandez topped the Pioneer leaderboard with a 9.750. Hoiland debuted on the balance after exhibitioning several weeks – she scored a career high 9.725. Woodring showcased a 9.700, and Brkljacic rounded out the top five scores for TWU with a 9.675. The Pioneers closed the final rotation with a 48.650.

NC State won the meet with a 197.375, Penn State scored a 197.000 and Penn scored a 196.050.
