D2CCA RELEASE
DENTON, Texas (March 14, 2024) – Ashley Ingram set another historical mark for the Pioneers ahead of the 2024 South Central Regional Tournament.
The junior from Bridgeport, Texas was named the D2CCA South Central Region Most Valuable Player and to the D2CCA South Central Region First Team, which advances her to the D2CCA All-American nomination.
Ingram, who most recently was named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Year – the Pioneers' – first becomes the first D2CCA South Central Region Most Valuable Player in program history. This marks her third consecutive time being named to the D2CCA South Central Region list and her second consecutive year being named to the First Team. She also becomes the seventh Pioneer named to the D2CCA All-Region Team.
After helping guide the Pioneers to the LSC Regular Season, East Division and Tournament Title, Ingram championed TWU to the No. 1 seed in the South Central Region and the privilege to host the South Central Regional Tournament.
The Pioneers currently hold their most wins in a season with a 29-4 record. She leads TWU with 18.1 points per game, which ranks second in the LSC and fifth in the region. On the season, she has grabbed 286 rebounds, which ranks third in the LSC and sixth in the region. She ranks eighth in the nation with 16 double-doubles on the season. Ingram also ranks first in NCAA Division II in made free throws (218) and free throw attempts (266), third in field goal percentage (61.4%) and 18th in defensive rebounds per game (7.0).
Ingram was named the LSC Player of the Year, All-LSC First Team, LSC All-Tournament Team and LSC All-Academic Team honoree.
