DENTON, Texas (March 17, 2024) – The Texas Woman's gymnastics team wrapped up the 2024 regular season in historical fashion on Sunday night in Kitty Magee Arena.
TWU faced Centenary in a dual meet on Sunday, as the Pioneers celebrated senior night. The Pioneers celebrated four seniors tonight, who have left a lasting legacy on the Pioneers' gymnastics team:
Madeline Gose,
Steelie King,
Emily Six and
Daisy Woodring.
History on senior night was the perfect way to celebrate the four seniors.
After a great night, the Pioneers posted a 196.125, which marks their second highest score of the season and second 196 team total of the season. With the 196 tonight, the Pioneers scored more than one 196 team score in the regular season for the first time in program history.
TWU started out the night on vault. Kailtyn Hoiland, who had a career night, started out strong for the Pioneers, leading the way with a 9.850. Hoiland claimed the event title on vault. Woodring started off her final night in KMA with a 9.825. Two Pioneers tied for third on vault with 9.800s –
Sophia Isbell and King – as King started off her senior celebration day strong.
Emma Brkljacic rounded out the Pioneers' top five scores on vault with a 9.700, as TWU started off the meet with a 48.975.
Then, the Pioneers rotated over to the uneven bars, where they scored a season high 49.250 – not far off their program record of 49.325. While TWU was just a few points off of the program record overall on bars, history still struck on bars. Hoiland scored a career high and TWU program high 9.950 to claim the event title. Led by Hoiland, all six Pioneers scored a 9.775 or higher to lead TWU to the season high score.
Lainey Hunt led TWU off on bars with a 9.775.
Kami Zarlengo added a 9.800. Then, the freshmen,
Caroline Bowns and
Aaliyah Gilmore, both competed strong performances and scored 9.825s.
Brooke Ferrari continued her strong season on bars with a 9.850.
In the third rotation, Hoiland continued her career night. In just her second time competing in the Pioneers' beam lineup, Hoiland scored a career high 9.900 to claim her second event title of the night. Woodring continued her solid senior night on the balance beam with a 9.825. Celebrating her senior night in exciting fashion, Gose scored a 9.800 on beam. Brkljacic scored a strong 9.775. In the second spot on beam,
Sophie Hernandez scored a 9.725, and
Emily Six, in the lead off spot, scored a 9.600 to start off her senior night in KMA. On the beam in the third rotation, the Pioneers scored a 49.025.
After a strong third rotation, the Pioneers closed the night on the floor with a 48.875. Hernandez continued her strong freshman campaign on floor to win the event title and lead the Pioneers with a 9.875. Woodring capped off her final night in KMA with a 9.825. In the fourth spot, Brkljacic scored a 9.775. The pair of seniors, King and Six, both scored 9.700s, and Gose closed her final night in KMA with a 9.675.
TWU recorded the win on the night over Centenary, as they closed the 2024 regular season.

"These four seniors truly helped build the historic legacy of TWU Gymnastics, and I am so thankful for the passion, dedication and love they have give to our program and the sport of gymnastics. We closed out the regular season on a high note, and we look forward to carrying this momentum into the postseason this weekend."
