PIONEERS READY FOR SUNDAY QUAD MEET

DENTON, Texas (March 2, 2024) – The Pioneers are back in Kitty Magee Arena on Sunday, March 3.

TWU will host a quad meet featuring Oklahoma, Clemson and Penn. Most recently, the Pioneers competed at Utah State on Friday, Feb. 23, where they scored a 195.425.

The Pioneers will welcome No. 1 OU to Kitty Magee Arena. The Sooners most recently competed against Michigan at home and defeated Michigan, scoring a 198.650. Clemson, who is in their first year of competition, is currently ranked 27th. They last competed on Friday, Feb. 23 against North Carolina at home and won the meet with a 197.350. Finally, Penn is ranked 48th. They most recently competed on Saturday, Feb. 24 at home in a quad meet against Brown, Cornell and Yale and scored a 195.800.

The Pioneers will start competition tomorrow by honoring TWU Faculty and Staff members prior to March-In. The meet is slated to start at 2 p.m.

  • Following the conclusion of the meet, the Pioneers will be hosting a free youth clinic. The clinic is open to girls eighth grade and younger and is limited to 100 sign-ups. Participants will receive free entrance into the meet. Sign-ups will be at the entrance to the meet. Make sure to fill out a waiver and bring it to the meet to sign-up! Waivers can be accessed here.
MARCH IN
  • HISTORY: In the Pioneers last meet, Daisy Woodring scored a 9.950 on vault. Since her vault has a start value of 9.950, she executed it perfectly. Woodring's 9.950 marked the highest individual vault score in TWU program history. Woodring also received the Midwest Independent Conference Performance of the Week award for her historical score. The Pioneers will look to make more history this weekend at home.
  • FANTASTIC FLOOR: The Pioneers currently hold their highest event rankings on vault and floor. Already this season, TWU set a new program record for total score on floor. For the Pioneers, Madeline Gose holds the highest individual NQS on floor of a 9.805. Close behind Gose is Sophie Hernandez who holds an NQS of 9.800 on floor. Floor will be a key event for the Pioneers to close the meet on tomorrow afternoon.
  • HIGHEST NQS: The highest NQS from any Pioneer belongs to Kaitlyn Hoiland on vault. She currently holds an NQS of 9.825 on vault. Most recently, Hoiland scored a 9.875 on vault at Utah State, which matched her career high. Hoiland also holds a career high and season high of 9.875 on the uneven bars.
