MYKONOS, Greece (July 30, 2024) – On their final stop of their 2024 Greece Tour, the Texas Woman's Pioneers traveled to the island of Mykonos.

After a long ferry ride from Athens to Mykonos on Sunday, July 28, the Pioneers arrived on the "Island of the Winds." Upon their arrival, TWU was greeted to a historical tour of the town of Mykonos, which was built in a maze-like pattern to help protect it from pirates in the past. The Pioneers also saw the windmills in Little Venice, which is a popular sight in Mykonos where agricultural products were ground.

Following the tour and a little exploration of the town, the Pioneers rode the bus to their hotel – The Penelope, near Kalo Livadi Beach. The Pioneers had a little free time to settle in and enjoy the beach and hotel pool, before enjoying dinner at the hotel restaurant to close the day.

On Monday, July 29, the Pioneers woke up and enjoyed a delightful hotel breakfast, before departing to Panormos Beach. During their beach day, the Pioneers enjoyed the sun and cool, clear blue water. Additionally, the team had the opportunity to snorkel and were treated to many sights, including fish, sea centipedes, sea glass and a plethora of marine life near the beach.

After snorkeling, TWU ate lunch at Paleo on the beach. After lunch at the beach and a little break at the hotel, the Pioneers journeyed back into the city of Mykonos for their final night on the island. The Pioneers enjoyed dinner, the team favorite - gelato and time to explore the shops of Mykonos. During dinner, the team was treated to a beautiful sunset along the beach. Additionally, they were treated to the many winds of Mykonos, as they experienced the island's namesake firsthand.

The beautiful beaches left the Pioneers in awe of the sights. Today, Tuesday, July 30, the Pioneers traveled back on the three-hour ferry to Athens to close the trip with a traditional Greek dinner and one final night together in the city. As they sat around the dinner table, they all reminisced on the joyful experiences throughout the 10-day trip.
