DENTON, Texas (Sept. 10, 2024) – The Texas Woman's soccer team will embark on its second road trip of the season to Bethany, Okla., for a match against Southern Nazarene on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m.
The Pioneers (1-1-0) aim to continue their three game winning streak against the Storm (0-0-1) after their recent victory over Missouri Southern State on Sunday.

A LOOK AT THE STORM: On Thursday, Sept. 5, Southern Nazarene tied 1-1 with Northwest Missouri State University in their home opener. The Storm took an early 1-0 lead in the 41st minute, but Northwest Missouri State managed to score in the second half, resulting in a tie. SNU was predicted to finish third in the Great American Conference preseason coaches' poll and is aiming for its first win of the 2024 season after a 10-4-5 finish in 2023.

A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: Texas Woman's University defeated Missouri Southern State on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2-0, securing their first win of the season. The Pioneers scored two goals in the second half, with Bella Alfaro and Halee Avery finding the back of the net. Both goals came from corner kicks. Avery scored her first goal of the season, while Alfaro scored her first career goal.

OPPORTUNITIES ARE EVERYTHING: On Sunday, TWU maintained continuous pressure on the Lions' defense, taking 17 shots compared to MSSU's two. The Pioneers secured a strong away victory, scoring twice from 14 corner kicks and eight shots on goal. Head Coach Babak Abouzar and the Pioneers strive to maintain defensive solidity and create numerous scoring opportunities in their upcoming match against the Storm.
The Pioneers are set to play against the Storm tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Wes Harmon Field in Bethany, Okla.
