STARTING THE SEASON OFF RIGHT

  • A LOOK AT THE TIGERS: Last year, the Tigers finished the season with an overall record of 1-12-5. The team will look to turn things around with their recent hire of head coach Alyssa Taramona, former TWU assistant coach, and their returning scoring leader Abbie Morris, who led the team in goals and points. In the most recent GAC Coaches Ballet, the Tigers were picked to finish seventh in the GAC this season.

  • A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: Texas Woman's was recently picked to finish fourth in the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll. TWU are returning 24 players from their 2023 roster with the addition of eight new Pioneers this season, making them strong contenders for an LSC title.

  • START THE ATTACK AND DEFENSIVE MINDED: Last season, the Pioneers averaged 13.8 shots per game, while the Tigers averaged 11.3. TWU is putting the pieces together in their attacking front and will look to test the Tigers' defense. With an experienced back line in front of her, All-Region goalkeeper Amanda Farris will be in the net for the Pioneers, eager to pick up where she left off, breaking three TWU records last season: goals against average, save percentage, and shutouts per game. TWU will look to take on Coach Taramona tomorrow night and start the year off in the win column.
