PIONEERS HEAD TO LUBBOCK FOR MIDWEEK MATCHUP

LUBBOCK, Texas (Oct. 22, 2025) - Texas Woman's soccer hits the road in the midst of a conference stretch, traveling to face the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps in a Lone Star Conference matchup.

TWU (9-2-3, 5-2-3) will face LCU (6-4-2, 4-2-2) Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 5 p.m. at the LCU Soccer & Track Facility. This will mark the sixth all-time meeting between the programs, with the Pioneers leading the series 2-1-2.

TWU sits in fifth place in the conference standings. The Lady Chaps sit seventh. With several games remaining on both schedules, this matchup provides a valuable opportunity to improve positioning heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

  • A LOOK AT THE LADY CHAPS: Lubbock Christian enters the match after a weather-related cancellation this past weekend against No. 1 DBU on Oct. 11. The Lady Chaps have scored 23 goals and conceded 12 this season, averaging 15.3 shots per game compared to their opponents' 11. Offensively, they rank fourth in the LSC in assists (20) and seventh in shots on goal (84). Sophomore forward Ella Spiller leads the team with 10 goals and ranks second with 4 assists. Defensively, LCU has held opponents to an average of one goal per game.

  • A LOOK AT THE PIONEERS: TWU enters with a 1-1-2 record in its last four games, including a 2-2 draw on the road at UT Dallas most recently. The Pioneers' last win came on Oct. 8 in a 2-0 result over UTPB. TWU has scored 35 goals this season while conceding just 13. The Pioneers average 17 shots per game and have dominated possession in most matches. They have outshot opponents by more than 160 attempts this season. Junior forward Giselle Gutierrez leads the team with 8 goals and ranks third with 4 assists. In goal, Amanda Farris and Faith Graves combine for a .675 save percentage while anchoring a defense that has limited opponents to just 5.4 shots per game.
