DENTON, Texas (Oct. 24, 2025) – The Texas Woman's volleyball team will be having sweep dreams tonight.
TWU (13-7, 6-3) swept RV Angelo State (13-7, 7-2) in Kitty Magee Arena in front of an electric crowd.
It marked the Pioneers first win over the Rambelles since 2018 and first sweep of ASU since 2013.
After claiming the set one win, 25-20, TWU followed it up in the second set by holding the Rambelles to just nine total points – their lowest set point total of the season and lowest since 2023.
TWU held ASU to hitting just .083 on the night, which marked their second lowest hitting percentage in a match this season. Their lowest came in a three-set loss to West Texas A&M on Sept. 20.
The Pioneers dominated the service line with seven aces and the net protection with 10 total blocks, which was the sixth match for TWU of the season with 10 or more blocks. The Pioneers currently rank second in the Lone Star Conference in blocks, averaging 2.48 blocks per set.
With the win over ASU, TWU moves to .500 in conference action and currently rank fourth in conference standings.

The scoring went back-and-forth after that and would be tied seven times. ASU would bring up set point four times, but TWU thwarted it every time.
