PIONEERS DOMINATE THE OREDIGGERS IN FIRST ROAD GAME OF THE SEASON

GOLDEN, Colo. (Nov. 14, 2025) – On the road for the first time in the 2025-26 season, Texas Woman's basketball secured a convincing win, defeating Colorado School of Mines, 80-55.

The Pioneers (2-1) hit their stride with field goals in the contest, completing 31-of-50 attempts at 62% from the field, their highest single game percentage since the 2023-24 season.

While this is the fifth all-time meeting between the Pioneers and Colorado School of Mines (0-4), this is the first to take place at Lockridge Arena in Golden. Of those five meetings, TWU is undefeated against the Orediggers.

IMPACT PLAYERS
  • Gabby Elliott led the Pioneers in scoring with 23 points, missing only one field goal in 11 attempts, and making all three free throw attempts. Elliott also recorded nine rebounds, three blocks, and a steal. The 23 points marked a career high for Elliott.
  • Averee Kleinhans tallied 19 points, making 6-of-8 field goal attempts, going 6-for-7 at the free throw line, and sinking a three-pointer. Kleinhans also led the team in steals with two, and tallied four rebounds.
  • Kayla Glover rounded out the TWU double-digit scorers with 12, and was perfect at the free throw line. Her 12 points also represented a career high for the fifth year guard.

PIONEER POWER MOMENTS
  • The Pioneers took advantage of opportunities as they came their way, scoring 20 points off turnovers, as well as outscoring the Orediggers 8-5 off second chance points.
  • TWU continues to dominate in the paint, as they scored 42 points in the paint and held the Orediggers to just 28 in the paint.
  • TWU never trailed and was never tied in the game, recording their first wire-to-wire win of the 2025-26 season.
  • TWU started off the game hot, scoring 28 points at the end of the opening quarter, while holding the Orediggers to just 13. The previous best for total points scored in a single quarter so far this season was 19, achieved against both Wayne State and Harding.
  • TWU ended the first quarter on a 12-0 run, which would have been left unanswered as time expired were it not for an Oredigger buzzer beater. The final point of the run came in the form of a free throw by Glover after a foul followed a successful layup, with the Colorado School of Mines three bringing the score to 28-13 Pioneers at the end of one quarter.
  • During the 12-0 run, the Pioneers longest in the game, TWU would gain their first double-digit lead as an Elliott jumper brought the score to 21-10; TWU would hold on to a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game after this point.
  • The Pioneers entered halftime with a 47-24 lead.
  • Quick back-and-forth activity began the third period, with a total of three layups, two jumpers and a free throw being scored between the two teams in the first three minutes. TWU would come out of this opening flurry keeping a double digit lead at 53-29.
  • In the fourth quarter, TWU would find their largest lead of the night twice across the 10 minutes of action at 27. The Pioneers first 27-point lead of the night came off a Kleinhans' triple at 2:47 second on the clock, 76-49. A layup by Kaylie Morgan at the 13 second mark would again increase TWU's lead to 27, 80-53. A final bucket by the Orediggers would close the game, as the Pioneers claimed their largest margin of victory of the season, 80-55.
